National Craft Month

Did you know that March is National Craft Month? The Craft & Hobby Association began this great tradition in 1994 to promote the joys of crafting for new and experienced crafters alike.  What started with just a few retailers and manufacturers has expanded into a full celebration of the crafting lifestyle with millions of enthusiasts worldwide observing a month of crafty sharing and exploration.

During National Craft Month retailers across the country offer product discounts, special classes, demonstrations, as well as tips and projects to help customers try and discover crafts.

I want to urge you to create and/or complete at least one project this month! I will do my best to post a few throughout the month to help give you some inspiration.

Hope all of you had a safe and enjoyable New Year celebration.

Here is the beginning of a 12 month calendar that I started creating this morning.

I used Cat's 2012 Stampable 6x6 Calendar, which can be found here. I cut the full 6x6 page down to 2 3/4" x 2 1/4" and matted it with 2 different pieces of cardstock, one patterned and one not. The background and striped paper is part of a "Black Friday" grab bag I purchased off PeachyCheap back in 2010.  I still have some more embellishments to add, but couldn't wait to share my first blog post of 2012 with you :)
